Guwahati: One-Day Symposium on “Draft National Education Policy 2019 & New India” was prepared mutually using the Intellectual discussion board of North East and the Center of Excellence in Science and Mathematics Education (CESME) underneath Pt. Madan Mohan Malaviya National Mission on Teachers and Teaching (PMMMNMTT), IIT Guwahati collaborates with the Department of Higher Education, Govt. Of Assam on

10th August 2019 at the Center for Educational Technology IIT Guwahati to brainstorm the diverse elements of the coverage. Prof. Sunil Khijwania of the branch of physics and Head of, the Center for Educational Technology (CET) and Prof. U. S. Dixit of the mechanical engineering department were coordinators from IIT Guwahati.
Governor of Assam Prof. Jagdish Mukhi inaugurated the symposium with the Director of IIT Guwahati, Prof T. G. Sitharam, and Dr. Atul Bora, Director (in-Charge) Technical Education of Assam.

He highlighted essential policy proposals of draft NEP 2019 and several new policy tasks for promoting the internalization of better schooling, strengthening great open and distance studying, and era integration at all the tiers of schooling. He noted that the direction-breaking reforms endorsed will bring about a paradigm shift by equipping our college students, teachers, and educational institutions with the proper talents and competencies and creating a permitting and reinvigorated instructional eco-device for a colorful new India. Prof. TG Sitharam additionally highlighted the foremost educational achievements of IIT Guwahati and its dedication to integrating itself with NER states to facilitate instructional excellence for the whole northeast. He highlighted that soon, IITG is beginning the Young Engineer’s Program for the NE States and Sikkim.

Intellectual Forum of North East Center for Excellence in Science & Mathematics Education, PMMMNMTT CET, IIT Guwahati Government of Assam Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Registrar Gauhati University delivered the keynote lecture; while Prof. Hemanta Kumar Baruah, Ex Vice-Chancellor Bodoland University, Prof. (Dr.) S. P. Singh, vice-chancellor Royal Global University, Prof. Polly Vauquline, Associate Professor Gauhati University, Dr. Dayanada Borgohain Chairman, Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, Prof. Dilip Chandra Nath, Vice-Chancellor,

Assam University, Silchar, Dr. Dulumoni Goswami, Education Department, Gauhati University, Prof. Nani Gopal Mahanta, Registrar, Gauhati University, Prof. Bibhash Chandra Nath Purkayastha, Vice President, Bharatiya Shikshan Mandal, and Dr. Atul Bora, Director (in-price), Technical Education, Govt of Assam introduced lectures. It carried out brainstorming sessions all through the symposium. Finally, Prof Nani Gopal Mahanta summarized the
