Degrees When Due graphicMiddletown, Conn. (Oct. 12, 2019) — Middlesex Community College has been selected to enroll in Degrees When Due, a countrywide initiative of the Institute for Higher Education Policy, or IHEP, to help students who have earned a few college credits whole their stages.
As one among the colleges and universities from 20 states participating in Degrees When Due, Middlesex Community College, or MxCC, will study excellent practices in diploma reclamation and provide centered help simultaneously as re-attractive college students who’ve paused or “stopped out,” their research, three other Connecticut network colleges, the four-country universities, and Charter Oak State College also participate in the Degrees When Due initiative.
“Middlesex Community College is committed to the importance of re-engaging students and selling degrees of entirety,” said MxCC Chief Executive Officer Steve Minkler, Ed.D. “The Degrees When Due program demonstrates techniques to help us better perceive and serve to return inexperienced persons. When they sign up, each pupil is assigned a guide and may display their academic progress using our current online equipment. Advisors help college students expand a significant path that is compatible with their goals and aid students in getting to know each other through their education at Middlesex and beyond.”

These resources assist the university in auditing students’ transfer and previously earned credit to decide the most efficient pathway to graduation. The software benefits more than 30,000 individuals in Connecticut who’ve been identified as having some college credit but no awarded diploma.
“Our Degrees When Due institutional and country partners are constructing a robust pathway to diploma attainment for all college students, including via supplying an on-ramp for the ones who have paused their research or ‘stopped out,'” stated IHEP President Michelle Asha Cooper, Ph.D. “IHEP enthusiastically welcomes the chosen establishments and states that it is committed to this effort. Through this initiative, they will achieve growth scholar fulfillment, serve large pupil populations, and join us in addressing one ofgher training’s most pressing challenges: degree finishing touch.”

As part of the Connecticut State Colleges and Universities device, MxCC gives more than 70 diploma or certificate programs at the principal 38-acre Middletown, MxCC@Platt in Meriden.
